【摘要】:Thispracticeisintendedforusebyassociations,technicalsocietiesandothergroupsthatdevelopnationaldesignstandardsanduserecommendationsforroundtimberpiles.Inusingallowablestressesestablishedunderthispractice,factorsspecifictoeachendusewhichmayaffecttheperformanceofthepilesystemshallbeconsidered.Suchfactorsincludethelocationofthecriticalsection,thebearingcapacityofthesoil,theabilityofthepiletowithstanddrivingforcesandconditionsofservice.1.1Thispracticecontainsproceduresforestablishingallowablestressesforroundtimberpilesstartingwithclearwoodstrengthproperties.1.2Stressesestablishedunderthispracticeareapplicabletopilesconformingtothequality,straightness,spiralgrain,knot,check,shake,andsplitprovisionsofSpecificationD25.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
